Looking back at BIOFACH 2026: Focus on digitization and traceability
BIOFACH 2026 in Nuremberg once again showed where the international organic and food industry is heading: more transparency, more digitization and significantly higher requirements for continuous processes. For us as exhibitors, the trade fair was an ideal opportunity to talk to producers, retailers and industry experts from across the DACH region about the future of the food industry.
On four intensive days of the fair, one topic in particular was at the center of many discussions: How can organic and food companies scale their processes efficiently and at the same time meet increasing regulatory requirements?
High demand for digital solutions in the food industry
The talks at BIOFACH 2026 have made it clear that many companies are currently facing similar challenges:
- increasing documentation requirements,
- more complex supply chains,
- lack of real-time transparency,
- as well as high manual effort in production, warehouse and administration.
In particular, the topics:
- batch traceability,
- auditability,
- ERP integration,
- Warehouse digitization
- and process automation
were central focal points for many visitors.
It became clear that traditional stand-alone solutions and Excel-based processes are increasingly reaching their limits in many companies.
Great interest in end-to-end traceability
As an exhibitor at BIOFACH, we were able to have numerous discussions with companies that want to modernize their traceability and process landscape.
There was particular interest in the question of how:
- receipt of goods,
- production,
- warehouse,
- Sales
- and quality assurance
Connect to a central platform.
Many visitors were specifically looking for solutions that:
- create real-time transparency
- simplify audit processes,
- Speed up recall management
- and reduce manual work steps.
Especially in the organic sector, the requirements for traceability and certifiability are constantly increasing. At the same time, many companies lack the necessary system integration to meet these requirements efficiently.
AI and automation as a highlight of the trade fair
A special highlight at our exhibition stand was the presentation of our AI solution FaBai. There was tremendous interest in intelligent automation and analysis functions throughout the exhibition.
Many visitors wanted to know how artificial intelligence could help in the future:
- to make processes more efficient
- evaluate data faster
- to support operational decisions,
- and to automate repetitive tasks.
In particular, the combination of ERP system, real-time data and AI-based process optimization met with great interest. Numerous discussions focused on how companies will:
- react more quickly to market changes,
- identify bottlenecks at an early stage
- and be able to make data-based decisions.
With FabAI, we were able to show how modern AI technology can be integrated directly into operational business processes — practical, scalable and tailored specifically to the requirements of the food and organic industries.
Digitalization is becoming a competitive factor
A key conclusion of BIOFACH 2026 was: Digitalization is no longer an issue of the future, but a decisive competitive factor.
Today, companies must:
- react faster
- make processes more efficient
- meet regulatory requirements
- and scale economically at the same time.
ERP systems in particular are becoming increasingly important because they:
- centralize processes
- Make data available in real time
- and eliminate media breaks.
The demand for integrated solutions for the food and organic industries was clearly noticeable at the trade fair.
Valuable exchange with industry experts
In addition to the many discussions with interested parties, BIOFACH 2026 was above all a valuable platform for us to exchange ideas with:
- producers,
- dealers,
- technology partners,
- certification bodies
- and industry associations.
The trade fair has once again shown how closely sustainability, transparency and digital processes are now interlinked.
For us, BIOFACH 2026 was therefore not only a successful trade fair, but also an important confirmation that the industry is actively looking for modern and integrated ERP solutions.
Thank you for the numerous discussions
We would like to thank all visitors, partners and customers for the exciting discussions and intensive exchange at BIOFACH 2026.
The trade fair once again showed that the future of the food and organic sector is digital, connected and data-driven.
We are already looking forward to the next joint projects and to continuing to support companies in their digital transformation.
