In contract management, the functional scope of contract line items grows considerably. Four additional fields are now available on split line items: estimated quantity, contract price, daily price according to the exchange, and an automatically calculated mark-to-market field. This is complemented by the display of the original base item number, a new free-text field for analysis frequency, and noticeable performance improvements when loading large contracts with many dispositions and goods movements.
Especially in agricultural trading and raw material transactions with exchange-linked prices, it was previously cumbersome to assess the current market value of a contract line item at a glance. The four new fields on the split line item provide direct relief here: sales staff immediately see how the agreed contract price relates to the current daily price, and the automatically calculated mark-to-market field shows the value development without anyone having to calculate it manually. The base item number was also previously a stumbling block: if a pallet item number is used as part of an item switch, sales teams only saw this new number and had to look up the originally agreed item number separately - now it remains directly visible on the line item. The new free-text field for analysis frequency makes it easier for quality assurance and the lab to plan recurring analyses per contract line item and partner. And because many customers work with contracts comprising hundreds of dispositions and goods movements, the optimized database query when loading has a direct impact on daily work: large contracts open noticeably faster, which makes a difference especially during peak times such as harvest season.
You activate the four new fields on the split line item via the associated UI configuration in the contract module; they then appear automatically in the existing contract line item screen. You display the base item number via the configuration in the contract line item settings. You'll find the analysis frequency free-text fields both on the contract line item and on the associated survey; they can be entered manually or filled automatically via a workflow. The performance improvement when loading large contracts is automatically active and requires no additional configuration. For very extensive contracts with several thousand line items, it is nevertheless recommended to open the display as a test and check the load time in your own system before making the new fields visible to all sales teams.
